Longlisted for the Architects' Journal M&S Oxford Street Re-Store Ideas Competition, Re-volve explores how London's former Marks & Spencer building could become a place to test, teach and showcase retrofit.
Our proposal imagines the building as a working recycling exchange, where discarded materials are collected, catalogued and remade, while workshops, galleries and learning spaces bring together the public with builders, architects and engineers. Rather than treating retrofit as something hidden behind hoardings, Re-volve brings the process into the middle of Oxford Street, celebrating repair, making and experimentation.
