Madeleine joined architect Mio Tsuneyama in conversation at Japan House London as part of The Essence of Architecture: Material Conversations symposium to discuss their collaborative research practice Studio mnm. Held alongside the exhibition Distillation of Architecture: 家具, for which they designed the installation Nomadic Kasuri Horizons, the symposium brought together architects, artists and material practitioners from Japan and the UK to explore how collaboration and material experimentation can inform new approaches to architecture. Their discussion drew on the work of Studio mnm, including Hidden Half World, and considered the relationship between architecture, ecology and making.
